
Vanessa Trezise began her career at age 20, as a researcher for the ABC's 7:30 report in Brisbane, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in journalism and psychology.
In 1995, she joined Prime News on the Gold Coast, a year later she relocated to Prime News in Newcastle, where she covered major events such as the Closure of BHP and the 1998 Waterfront dispute.
In 1997, she received a Prodi award for ‘best news story of the year'.
Vanessa switched networks in 2000 and became the main court and crime reporter at NBN News in Newcastle. In 2001, she started presenting NBN's Late Edition News for viewers across regional New South Wales.
The Brisbane born journalist then worked for National Nine News in Sydney on the Today show in 2002, before joining the Sky News team in early 2003.
During her time with Sky, Vanessa has worked on extensive coverage of the Boxing Day tsunami, the London bombings and the 2004 Election. She was also the executive producer of Sky's political program 'Agenda' in 2004.
